Dr Renato Bauman
PhD, Ob/Gyn Consultant, Subspecialist in Infertility
Renato graduated from University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1992. In 2000 he gained his MSc and in 2012 his PhD.
Since 1992, his main area of interest was Gynaecology and Obstetrics. In 1997 he developed a keen interest in the area of Infertility. His main areas of interest within assisted reproduction are minimally invasive (endoscopic) surgery, Colour Doppler and three-dimensional ultrasound. In 2005 he became an “Expert Leader” of the Human Reproduction Clinic in Sveti Hospital in Zagreb and in 2009 he became a Sub-Specialist in IVF.
Renato was a regular lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in postgraduate studies, “Ultrasound in gynaecology and obstetrics,” “Obstetric Surgeries” and “Gynaecological Surgery and Endoscopy”. As a teacher he participates in national and international professional meetings and conferences, he is the author of many chapters in domestic and foreign books on gynaecology, as well as numerous scientific articles which are often cited in the international indexes.
He joined us here in Rotunda IVF in 2015, becoming our Deputy Clinic Director in June 2016 and then our Clinical Director early in 2017. He continues to provide ongoing support and leadership to all of our medical and nursing team’s. He strives at all times to ensure that couples attending RIVF receive excellent care and attention.
Dr Piotr Sokol
Piotr is a Medical Graduate of Akademia Medyczna in Warsaw, Poland in 2006. He completed his speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2012 at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, a tertiary hospital and referral centre for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He subsequently completed his post graduate (MSc) in Gynaecological Endoscopy at University Hospital Vall D’Hebron in Barcelona.
He developed his expertise in ART at Sims IVF in Dublin in 2013. He returned to his family in Barcelona where he continued to work in Instituto Marques and FIV Clinic, where he had responsibility for the Egg Donation programme.
He re-joined the Sims group, based in Rotunda IVF in 2016.
Piotr strongly believes in evidence based medicine and an integrated approach in the treatment of infertility. He is passionate about the need for emotional support and empathy throughout the entire fertility process.
Dr Maria Arque
Dr Maria Arque, MD, is a medical graduate of University of Barcelona (2009). She completed her Specialty training in Obstetrics and Gyneacology at Hospital de Sant Pau I la Santa Creu in Barcelona, a reference hospital in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She has had special interest for human reproduction since the beginning of her speciality in obstetrics and gynaecology. She has done a clinical observership in Yale University in the US in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility department and in Laparoscopic Surgery and Endometriosis at IRCAD (Prof. Arnaud Wattiez) in Strasbourgh (France).
She started her training in IVF in one of the main Reproductive Clinics of Barcelona and became the director of the Egg Donation program. She completed the Subfertility, Reproductive Endocrinology and Assisted Reproduction Theoretical Course at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gyneacology in London.
She is currently finishing her thesis at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona about the impact of lifestyle in the outcome of IVF and ICSI. She strongly believes in the holistic approach in the treatment of infertility and the importance of empathy and patient care.
Kathleen trained in Kingston upon Thames and qualified as a general nurse in 1992. She worked in the UK and Ireland before heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. There Kathleen started working in an IVF unit attached to the hospital. She returned to Ireland in 2002 and joined a Dublin based IVF Clinic where she worked as a fertility nurse and then nurse manager. Kathleen left to work in The Kilkenny Clinic before returning to the Dublin based IVF Clinic in 2010 to join the Egg Donation program as donor coordinator. In September 2015 we were delighted to take Kathleen on board as Clinic Manager.
Joan Kelly was educated in Dublin, Ireland. She started her nursing career in St.Vincents Hospital, Dublin and completed her training in 1984. She worked in Oncology Nursing for several years completing a diploma in Oncology and Care for the Dying. She then branched into fertility and started working in Rotunda IVF Clinic in 1996. Specializing in ultrasongraphy and assisted reproductive medicine. Whilst working in Rotunda IVF, she did an MBA in Health Care Services and also completed a certificate in Ultrasound in the University of Derby. She now is head of the nursing department in Rotunda IVF.
Patient Support Manager
Joan Hamilton joined the Rotunda IVF team in 2001 having originally qualified as a nurse in the Mater Hospital in Dublin. Her interest and training in counselling began 15 years ago and since then she has graduated in counselling and psychotherapy from Trinity College Dublin, specialising in Fertility counselling. She is one of the co-founders and past Chair of the Irish Fertility Couselling Association (IFCA) and is also a sessional lecture in UCD.
Keith O Toole
Keith O’Toole graduated with a Bachelor in Science in Multimedia Technology at Napier University, Edinburgh. Keith has been working at Rotunda IVF since 2009 as Patient coordinator. While at Rotunda IVF, Keith has been involved in many of the projects specializing in our ‘Patient Care’ system and IT structures.
